Three ways to clean

The surface decides the method

There isn't one right way to clean the outside of a house. There's a right way for each surface.

  • Soft wash

    Low pressure and a cleaning mix that kills mould at the root. Then a gentle rinse. Nothing gets blasted off.

    Usually for: Render, painted walls, cladding, roofs, gutters

  • High pressure

    For hard surfaces that can take it, like concrete and pavers. We use a spinning surface cleaner, so you don't get stripes.

    Usually for: Plain concrete and pavers

  • Depends on the surface

    We check the surface first. Soft wash where pressure would do damage, pressure only where it's safe.

    Usually for: Face brick, sandstone, coloured concrete, timber decks, jetties

  • Brush and pure water

    No pressure at all. A soft brush and pure water, so nothing scratches the glass or gets forced past a seal.

    Usually for: Solar panels

About the check

Is this a proper inspection?
No. It's a guide, based only on what you tell us. It shows what that kind of surface usually needs. We look at the real thing before any work starts, and we'll tell you if it's different.
Do I have to give my details to see the result?
No. You see the result first. Your name and number are only needed if you want us to ring you with a price.
Why not just pressure clean everything?
Because too much pressure on the wrong surface strips paint, scars timber and pushes water behind the walls. Hard ground can take it. Walls, roofs and soft timber usually can't.
What if I don't know what my wall or roof is made of?
Pick "Something else, or not sure". That's a fine answer. We'll look at it on the day and pick the method then.
It was damaged by a pressure cleaner before. Can you fix that?
Washing can't undo damage, but it shouldn't add to it. Tell us about it in the check. We'll look at the surface first and tell you what to expect before we start.
